Job summary

Metrolinx is seeking a Data Scientist II for a 6-month term to develop and implement models for ridership and revenue projections. You will train ML models, build data pipelines, and present insights to senior management.

The role requires strong SQL, Python, PySpark skills and experience with Azure Databricks and Power BI. Ideal candidates will have a degree in statistics, applied math, or related fields and a track record in predictive analytics.

Qualifications

• Degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent.
• Progressive experience in data mining, statistics or predictive analytics.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, Python, PySpark; working with Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytical processes to forecast ridership and revenue impacts.
• Train and deploy ML models for service change effects.
• Design end-to-end data pipelines; collaborate with stakeholders.
• Perform KPI analysis and present to senior leadership monthly.
• Mentor other analytics staff and promote best practices.
