Job summary

Bell in Mississauga, ON, is seeking a Data Scientist II for on-site hybrid work to design, build, and deploy end-to-end AI solutions addressing key business needs. The role emphasizes production-grade ML, retrieval-augmented generation, and collaboration with BI teams.

You will lead model development from feature engineering through evaluation, monitoring, and governance, while guiding data pipelines and mentoring peers in a fast-paced telecom environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, statistics or a related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on data science, ML or AI engineering with production delivery.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL with enterprise data warehouse experience (e.g., Teradata).
• Experience delivering generative AI including agentic workflows and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Hands-on experience on major cloud AI platforms and ML frameworks (scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Strong Git-based development practices and modern software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy end-to-end production AI solutions to address priority business needs.
• Develop agentic workflows and multi-agent orchestration on enterprise platforms (Gemini Enterprise, AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry).
• Architect retrieval-augmented generation pipelines with chunking, embedding and vector stores.
• Lead ML model development from feature engineering to evaluation, explainability and monitoring.
• Establish engineering standards: Git workflows, code review, testing, CI/CD.
• Build data and integration pipelines connecting enterprise systems (Teradata, BigQuery, Salesforce).
• Provide technical leadership and upskill team members on advanced AI techniques.
• Partner with BI stakeholders to assess feasibility, effort, risk and value of use cases.
• Implement responsible evaluation practices: accuracy checks, guardrails, human-in-the-loop, cost monitoring.
• Stay aware of evolving tech landscape and introduce new capabilities.
