We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our team with hands-on experience in building end-to-end data pipelines and deploying AI solutions using Azure Databricks.

Security clearance requirement: Reliability Clearance granted preferably or eligible (5+ years residing in Canada)

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks, MongoDB, Gremlin DB, and Azure Blob Storage.
• Build Large Language Models-based and NLP-based solutions for CGI clients by researching best-in-class techniques and being a self-starter.
• Understand large language models and integrate these models into the data analytics workflow to enhance understanding of unstructured data, improve decision-making, and provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
• Address challenging problems for financial services, insurance and the government by using artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing and big data.
• Ideate, conceptualize, design, develop and maintain AI/ML algorithms that provide data insights driving operational efficiencies and cost savings.
• Provide guidance to a customer and project team regarding technical feasibility, complexity, and level of effort required to deliver a solution.
• Collaborate with other Data Scientists and Data Engineers in a client engagement setting.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

• University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Ideally, 5 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or cloud data engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL for managing databases, writing complex queries, and performance tuning.
• Experience with end-to-end data pipelines with Azure Databricks, MongoDB, Gremlin DB, and Azure Blob Storage, etc., to accurately extract and interpret data.
• Knowledge of backup, recovery, and redundancy strategies.
• Experience with Azure Databricks and MLflow.
• DevOps: Knowledge of Azure DevOps.
• Experience with APIs.
• Ability to work with data visualization tools (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).

Good-to-have skills

• Experience with workflows and coordination across documents and ability to maximize automation.
• Experience with Azure AI Foundry.
• Experience with LLM models for optimized inference (quantization, batching).
• Experience with automated document parsing.
• A completed college diploma or university degree in related field.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingualism (French and English) would be an asset.
