Position Summary

The Data Integration Specialist is a key developer role, responsible for systems integration and data administration of a variety of enterprise systems. This role reports into the Vice President, Information Systems Technology.

In this role, the Data Integration Specialist will work collaboratively with a variety of IST teams and the business to support, design, and develop industry-standard integration, business intelligence, and reporting solutions.

As a key member of the technology team, the Data Integration Specialist will possess excellent communication, technical, and teamwork skills. At ease when communicating with both business leads and technical teams, and able to quickly adapt his / her communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Enterprise Architecture and Information Security teams, designs, develops, tests, debugs, and implements ETL, system, and API integrations built using Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory, Azure Integration Services, and Logic Apps for gathering and maintaining database information between various data sources. Also ensures that automated operational error handling and data monitoring is in place.
  • Working closely with business partners and internal application SMEs in analyzing functional requirements to make recommendations for efficiency, database management and connections, and technology solutions. Develops data application queries and reports as needed.
  • Supports effective sharing and utilization of data across applications, multiple platforms, and departments, which includes planning and execution of data migration processes.
  • Utilizes data privacy and security protocols in designing solutions to ensure system and data integrity, including analyzing underlying causes of problems.
  • Makes recommendations, develops processes, accesses resources, and implements control mechanisms that will ensure quality, integrity, and security of data.
  • Supports, troubleshoots, and analyzes business systems, applications, and other databases, to resolve complex systems, data management, communication, and interoperability problems.
  • Serves as a technical resource on the subject of database setup and integration best practices.
  • Identifies and analyzes complex, ambiguous, and / or conflicting development issues.
  • Crosschecks and debugs information obtained by integration for use in reporting.
  • Communicates with administrators, end users, vendors, service providers, and other outside organizations to coordinate activities, programs, schedule work, and resolve issues.
  • Remains up to date on technology changes and trends.
  • Performs other related duties as needed.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • 2-5 years strong hands-on experience with SQL Servers and Microsoft tools such as SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in design and development of data integration solutions.
  • Technical experience in the management and maintenance of data warehouse environments and ETL processes.
  • BSc in Computer Science or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and diplomacy skills, and able to facilitate discussions for a win / win solution.
  • A hands-on natural problem solver, who has a passion for learning and is detail-oriented.
