Job summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a Data Innovation Analyst in Edmonton to support the Forms Management unit within Technology and Innovation. You will research, design, and improve government forms to enhance accessibility and user experience.

Reporting to the Forms Management Team Lead, you will collaborate with Business Analysts and Ministry teams to deliver professional forms services, using tools like SharePoint and Adobe LiveCycle Designer.

Qualifications

  • A diploma in a related field such as Computer Sciences or Information Technology, plus two years of experience in design and/or programming.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in: process analysis and improving forms; applying government forms design standards; maintaining web pages and digital solutions; using SharePoint or LiveCycle Designer.

Role Responsibilities

Are you skilled in programming, workflow development, problem solving, and research? Do you bring strong organization, attention to detail, and experience in form or application design? If so, this opportunity may be a strong fit for you.

Reporting to the Forms Management Team Lead, the Data Innovation Analyst supports the creation and continuous improvement of Government of Alberta forms. This includes researching, evaluating, and designing form features that improve performance, accessibility, and the overall user experience.

As part of the Forms and Technical Services unit, the Data Innovation Analyst contributes to both strategic and operational priorities. Working within a centre of excellence for forms management, the role collaborates with Business Analysts and other teams across the Ministry of Technology and Innovation to share findings, apply technical expertise, and deliver professional forms services.

The responsibilities of this role include:

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

A diploma in a related field (such as Computer Sciences, Information Technology), plus two years of experience working in a design and/or programming role.

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in:

  • Applying government forms design standards to develop clear, accessible, and user-focused forms.
  • Interpreting and applying government forms management policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Designing and maintaining web pages, applications, or other digital solutions.
  • Using Microsoft SharePoint, Adobe LiveCycle Designer, or similar tools to support forms and content management.

A related one-year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and three (3) years of related experience.

Term of Employment: Temporary, Full-time position (Up to 2 months with possible extension)

Hours of Work: 7.25 hours daily / 36.25 weekly – Monday to Friday
