Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking an HR Data Analyst to structure, maintain, and leverage HR data for AI-driven initiatives and predictive analytics. You will collaborate with HR, IT/AI, and Data teams to deliver business value through data models and BI.

Responsibilities include transforming HR data sources (SAP SuccessFactors, Cornerstone, Avature), developing Power BI dashboards, and supporting AI projects with governance and quality checks. Bilingual French/English preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Admin, IT or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years as a Data Analyst, preferably in HR.
  • Experience with HR systems like SAP SuccessFactors, Avature, or similar.
  • Experience in data transformation initiatives involving HRIS or AI.
  • APIs or data integration experience is a plus.

  • Transform HR data sources and document data mappings.
  • Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards for HR analytics.
  • Calculate key HR KPIs and ensure data quality and governance.
  • Prepare data for AI use cases and contribute to AI model features.
  • Collaborate with IT and Data teams to integrate HR data into AI environments.
  • Document data transformations and data flows and establish data standards.

Job Description

At the heart of Pomerleau’s HR strategy, the HR Data Analyst will play a key role in structuring, maintaining, and leveraging HR data to support advanced use cases such as predictive analytics, intelligent automation, and AI-driven initiatives. The HR Data Analyst will work closely with HR, IT/AI, and Data teams. This role combines expertise in HR data, data modeling, and an understanding of AI and business intelligence applications, with a strong focus on delivering business value.

Key Responsibilities
  • HR Data Transformation
  • Map, document, and structure HR data sources, including SAP SuccessFactors (Employee Central, Compensation, Performance, Succession),
  • Cornerstone (LMS), Avature CRM (Recruitment), and other internal systems.
  • Participate in the transformation of HR data with IT teams toward standardized, AI-ready data models.
  • Identify and address data quality issues (completeness, consistency, duplication) through regular audits.
  • Define and maintain data models designed for analytics and AI use cases.
  • HR Analytics and Business Intelligence
  • Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards.
  • Calculate and validate key HR KPIs, including headcount, turnover rates (voluntary, involuntary, rolling 12-month trends, etc.), time-based variations, predictive analytics, and more.
  • Optimize dashboard readability and visualization impact for executive audiences.
  • Support for AI Initiatives
  • Prepare and structure data for AI use cases (e.g., employee attrition prediction, workforce segmentation).
  • Collaborate with Data and IT teams to integrate HR data into AI environments.
  • Contribute to the definition of relevant features and variables for AI models.
  • Ensure data traceability and governance for datasets used in advanced analytical and AI models.
  • Governance and Best Practices
  • Participate in establishing data standards (naming conventions, KPI definitions, data dictionaries).
  • Document data transformations and data flows.
  • Contribute to the implementation of AI governance processes, including data traceability and audit compliance requirements.
  • Stay informed on emerging HR technology and AI trends.
Qualifications And Skills
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Data Analyst role, ideally within an HR environment.
  • Experience with HR systems such as SAP SuccessFactors, Avature, or similar platforms is a strong asset.
  • Experience in transformation initiatives involving data, HRIS, or AI is highly desirable.
  • Experience with APIs or data integration is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry or a multi-site environment is an asset.
  • Technical Skills
  • Strong expertise in data modeling (schemas, normalization, analytical logic).
  • Experience with Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and visualizations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (Power Query is an asset).
  • Familiarity with modern data environments such as Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and SQL.
  • Understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts (feature engineering, datasets, data pipelines), without necessarily being a data science specialist.

Excellent command of both French and English, written and spoken.

  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear and understandable insights for non-technical audiences.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and solution-oriented.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a matrix environment with IT, Finance, and HR Operations teams.
