Job Title: Data Governance Project Manager

Duration: Full-time

Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid, 3x a week onsite)

Overview

The Project Lead is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within their field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in their job and the business. They are recognized technical authorities within their area, requiring basic commercial awareness. They often collaborate with multiple colleagues with similar subject matter expertise. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are essential to guide, influence, and convince others, including colleagues in other areas and external customers. The role has a significant impact on the area through complex deliverables and involves providing advice related to technology or business operations. The work influences an entire area, ultimately affecting the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function or job family.

Responsibilities

1. Develop detailed IT work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
2. Interface with senior project staff and client management regarding project status.
3. Recommend and oversee process improvements.
4. Evaluate complex business and system processes, industry standards, and provide expertise in the area.
5. Possess advanced understanding of IT project leadership principles.
6. Understand how various areas (architecture, infrastructure) integrate to achieve business objectives.
7. Influence strategic decisions through advice, counsel, or services.
8. Mentor or coach junior analysts and allocate work accordingly.
9. Conduct in-depth analysis to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
10. Persuade and influence others through effective communication and diplomacy skills.

Qualifications

6-10 years of experience in a related technology role with subject matter expertise in the field.

Education

Bachelor's or University degree or equivalent experience; a Master's degree is a plus.
