Job summary

South Essex Homes is seeking a Data Governance, Knowledge and Information Management Lead to drive data governance and information management across the organisation. This full-time, on-site role sits in Southend and works with IT, service managers and senior leadership to embed data-driven practices.

You will develop policies, oversee data quality, manage metadata and definitions, ensure compliance with UK GDPR, and support analytics-led decision making with clear governance.

Qualifications

• Strong data analytics and data analysis skills with the ability to translate findings into actions.
• Experience in data governance, data quality, metadata management and stewardship.
• Knowledge of data modelling, architecture and reporting integration.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Experience implementing information or knowledge management frameworks.
• Familiarity with data protection and UK GDPR requirements.
• Proficiency with Excel, SQL, BI tools or similar reporting platforms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience in housing, local government or the public sector is advantageous.
• Degree or professional qualification in data management, information management, IT, or related field desirable.
