Our government client in Regina, SK is looking for several Senior Data Engineers for a 9+ month contract to start, with possible extensions, reference #C19003374. This position can be remote, located anywhere in Canada.
Things You Need to Have:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in information technology, Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Minimum of five (5) years of proven experience working as a Data Engineer or similar role.
Resource Qualifications/Requirements:
- Experience using Informatica software (Power Centre, Integration Services, Workflow Manager, IDMC, TDM) in an integrated support environment.
- Experience with Oracle and SQL Server Database Management Systems and tools.
- ETL and data pipeline development experience; providing technical consulting and guidance for designing and developing complex ETL architectures.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as PL/SQL, R, Python.
- Experience with operating systems like Unix, Linux, and Windows.
- Shell scripting skills.
- Knowledge of Data Application Programming Interface (API).
- Understanding of algorithms and data structures.
Preferred Experience:
- Extensive experience with information management, logic modeling, conceptual, business process, and workflow design.
- Experience in requirements gathering, analysis, planning, designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining Data Management systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills involving issue identification, objective development, action planning, resource allocation, and quality assurance.
- Experience with cloud platforms for data management; Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate is an asset.
- Experience working with healthcare data is an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build infrastructure for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading using Informatica, SQL, SSIS, API, and other technologies.
- Architect relational and multi-dimensional databases, including star and snowflake schemas, ETL, SCD, Fact, and Cube development within a data management framework.
- Identify, design, and implement process improvements: automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, and redesign data pipelines for scalability.
- Build analytics tools to provide insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiencies, and key performance metrics.
- Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, monitor, and perform backup and recovery operations for ETL environments.
- Analyze datasets for compliance with data sharing agreements, legislation, and architecture guidelines.
- Mentor, support, and train Information Analysts and junior Data Management resources as needed.
