You will lead integration across systems, software, hardware, and mechanical groups, drive design reviews, and coordinate with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Project Management including cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Familiar with aerospace engineering standards; DO-178/DO-254/DO-160 are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the integrated product development team on safety-critical avionics systems to meet cost, schedule, and technical objectives.
  • Establish and maintain detailed technical plans, estimates, and schedules.
  • Coordinate with Systems, Software, Hardware, and Mechanical Engineering teams to drive design, development, integration, and verification throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Facilitate scope/requirement discussions with technical teams and customers.
  • Lead the solution definition process from requirements through production.

Job description

We are currently seeking a qualified Project Engineer to join our team. The Project Engineer will oversee the development and execution of safety-critical avionics programs, coordinating cross-functional engineering teams to deliver technical solutions that meet customer requirements, as well as schedule, cost, and quality objectives, while ensuring compliance with aerospace engineering processes and standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the integrated product development team working on safety-critical avionics systems to meet cost, schedule, and technical objectives
  • Establish and maintain detailed technical plans, estimates, and schedules
  • Coordinate with Systems, Software, Hardware, and Mechanical Engineering teams to drive design, development, integration, and verification activities throughout the product lifecycle
  • Facilitate scope/requirement discussions with technical teams and customers
  • Lead the solution definition process from requirements definition through design, development, validation and verification, and introduction to production
  • Ensure that project objectives are communicated to the project team and monitor that all technical project activities are aligned with the project schedule
  • Track and report program progress, costs, risks, and milestones
  • Lead internal and external design reviews and technical coordination meetings
  • Ensure compliance with Aerospace Engineering Processes
  • Coordinate proposal and quotation activities for RFP/RFI submission
  • Responsible for the Engineering Solution
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Project Management - managing cost, schedule (MS Project), resources, risk management - PMP Certificate is an asset
  • Working experience of overall engineering disciplines – systems, software, hardware development, certification for the aerospace electronics product
  • Working knowledge/familiarity with standards, DO-178, DO-254 and DO-160 are an asset
  • Take ownership of deliverables and coordinate with required stakeholders to meet deadlines
  • Track timeline to delivery in high fidelity and report progress to program management
  • Experience with managing engineering changes and non-conformances through established processes
  • Experience with executive communication, ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Excellent customer and supplier management skills
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done

Compensation: $120,000- $140,000 CAD
