Job summary

Reboot Monkey seeks a Data Center Technician for an on-site freelance role in Etobicoke, Canada. You will install, configure, and maintain server and network gear, with emphasis on structured cabling and incident response.

The role requires 3+ years in data center operations, strong troubleshooting, and documentation skills. CFG UPS, ITIL familiarity, and vendor/DCIM certifications are a plus, with on-site work and occasional on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years data center operations experience.
• Cat6/6a copper and OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber cabling knowledge.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs in demanding environments.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices preferred.
• Experience with DCIM platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment.
• Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Execute hardware deployments and decommissions.
• Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security).
• Respond to incidents and perform troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate documentation and asset tracking.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams.
• Participate in capacity planning and upgrades.
