Job summary

Reboot Monkey is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician for on-site freelance work in Olds, Canada. This role supports mission-critical infrastructure at premier data center facilities and involves hardware installations, cabling, racking, and troubleshooting.

Candidates should have 2+ years of data center or IT infrastructure experience, strong cabling skills, and familiarity with Dell/HP/Supermicro servers, with solid English communication. CDCP/CDCS and CCNA/Network+ are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, fiber).
• Experience with server hardware (Dell, HP, Supermicro).
• Professional English communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling.
• Perform cross-connects and patch panel work.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes.
• Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams.
