Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer hardware, and server hardware.
  • Experience with hardware, operating systems (e.g., Linux), and networking protocols.
  • Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) of equipment and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays, and shift-based schedules.
Preferred qualifications
  • 4 years of experience in maintenance and monitoring of server systems.
  • Experience working within a data center or network operation center environment.
  • Experience in project management and leadership.
  • Experience collaborating with teams and overcoming challenges.
  • Fluent English communication skills for client relationship management.
About the job

The Hardware Operations team manages Google's physical infrastructure. As a Data Center Technician, you'll deploy and maintain server and network infrastructure, participate in projects, and develop contingency plans. Your duties include deploying technology, working with stakeholders, and ensuring project success across data centers. Opportunities exist for growth within Hardware Operations or transition into software, networking, or project management roles.
