Job Summary
Equinix is seeking a Data Center Project Manager to support our region critical facility environment on our Operations Project Management (OPM) team. The OPM is a part of our cross functional team and includes regional operations projects and interaction with internal partners/ customers and external suppliers/ manufactures. This role will require a project manager familiar with data center operation and associated facility designs.
The OPM supports the data center operations management teams in executing the capital projects related to End of Life (EOL), Single Point of Failure (SPOF) infrastructure equipment and systems. OPM is often involved with on demand/ unplanned customer facing project design and construction. This individual contributor roll will demand a self-starter and disciplined individual.

Responsibilities
Manage multiple projects at a time throughout Canada (may require travel)
Apply a range of approaches to planning and gathering information in which to develop, facilitate, and lead complex projects and schedules
Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring feasibility of success
Develops overall project schedules in conjunction with customer requirements
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
Responsible for program delivery of multiple projects required for overall business strategy and facility sustainability
Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget and collaborate with expense analysts with variances on budget costs and timing.
Perform procurement for equipment, materials and suppliers needed for projects
Ensure resource availability and allocation are properly aligned
Develop detailed project plans to track progress and analyze risk
Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques
Report and escalate to management as needed
Manage relationships with all stakeholders and lead internal/ external meetings and teams
Apply risk management techniques to minimize project risks
Establish and maintain relationships with third party suppliers and manufactures
Work with numerous stakeholders in operations and other internal departments such as finance, construction, and center of excellence/ Subject Matter Expert (SME) teams
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and lessons learned
Actively build diverse teams that are required to accomplish projects and establish reliable resources where needed or required in support of self and peers
Qualifications
Advanced knowledgein electrical, UPS, mechanical and control systems including HVAC systems, generators andsafety systems
Demonstrated project management experience, with construction project management experience preferred
Experience working in critical facilities where failure is not an option. Data center experience is strongly preferred
Understanding of design and coordination requirements of large and complex power distribution and control systems, redundancy, resiliency, and protection
Working knowledge of data center power and cooling solutions
Competent in the equipment, design and operations of complex data center facilities to develop strategic project plans
Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related discipline preferred
Skillful with use of Microsoft Office Products such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
Familiar with project management methodology (Agile/ Waterfall/ Scrum)
Ability to navigate complex and ambiguous situations to make high-quality decisions in a timely manner
Ability to manage change and influence cross-functionally
A natural curiosity and strong organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills will be critical for success: success depends on building rapport and credibility with multiple stakeholders across the organization
Passion for quality and customer satisfaction
Experience managing vendor/ supplier relationships
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Bilingual Canadian French a plus
