Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Engineering and Operations Technician to oversee electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems in a Pointe-Claire data center. You will work with Colocation providers to keep critical systems running above 99.999% uptime, and prepare English documentation with partners.

The role requires Reliability Status clearance, and bilingual French/English capability, with strong incident management and project leadership within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical systems in critical data center operations (UPS, switchgear, generators, etc.).
• Minimum 3 years in facility management and operating infrastructure in critical facilities.
• Bilingual French and English required.

Responsibilities

• Interface with Colocation provider and facility teams for day-to-day needs.
• Supervise on-site providers and contractors to ensure compliance with practices and laws.
• Manage Colocation suppliers for routine maintenance and emergencies of critical systems.
• Create change management and incident tickets for data center facilities.
• Respond to non-office on-call duties and emergencies; refine procedures.
• Work with providers to resolve infrastructure engineering issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Produce English documentation for operations with Colocation partners.
• Suggest improvements to safety, security, and availability of data center.
• Maintain data center infrastructure inventory and dashboards.
• Lead rack installations, space, power, and cooling assessments.
• Lead new build and expansion projects across operations.
• Assist in internal recruitment and onboarding.
