Job summary

Russell Tobin & Associates is recruiting for a Public Sector client in Edmonton, Alberta, for a Senior Data Architect role. The position emphasizes designing scalable data architectures and data marts using Kimball methodologies, working with stakeholders to translate needs into robust models.

Candidates must have strong SQL/Oracle skills, Azure cloud experience, and proficiency with data modeling tools. Onsite attendance is required when requested, and security clearances are a prerequisite.

Qualifications

• Completed training with structured Query Languages (T‑SQL/Oracle/PLSQL) and database development.
• Training in Cloud Computing and Microsoft Azure within the last 5–10 years.
• Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 5 years’ experience defining data architecture and Kimball data marts.
• 2 years’ experience in public‑sector environments with FOIP awareness.
• Criminal Records Check and Enhanced Security Clearance including a credit check.
• Able to attend onsite meetings when requested.
• Experience with SAP/Sybase PowerDesigner, ERWin, Oracle Designer, SQL Developer Data Modeler, or Visio.
• 3 years’ experience with JOIN/JIMS data and judicial process rules.
• 2 years in Court environments; knowledge of information management and cybersecurity policies.

Russell Tobin & Associates is hiring on behalf of one of its esteemed clients. Job ID: 26-24524 Job Title: Data Architect - Senior Location: Edmonton Alberta Client: Public Sector Pay Rate: $90- $100/hr. CAD Must Have:

• Completed training with structured Query Languages specific to Microsoft T-SQL and/or Oracle and/or PL/SQL, and database development. Yes
• Obtained training within the past 5-10 years relating to Cloud Computing and Microsoft Azure and Azure Architecture Yes
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered; formal education strongly preferred). Yes
• Demonstrated experience defining data architecture and using Kimball architecture to develop data marts. 5 years
• Experience working in or with public-sector environments with awareness of public-sector constraints, privacy legislation (e.g., FOIP). 2 years
• Proposed resource has agreed to a Criminal Records Check and Enhanced Security Clearance including a credit check prior to commencement. Yes
