Altis Technology is seeking a Data Management Analyst to join a healthcare/pharma data team on a 6-month contract, with a hybrid work setup in Mississauga (2 days on-site). You will dive into messy data, profile datasets, document data lineage, and turn findings into actionable insights for business and technical stakeholders.

• Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Business Data Analyst, or Data Management Analyst in complex data environments.
• Strong hands-on SQL, data profiling, exploratory analysis, data quality, and validation skills.
• Experience working with legacy platforms such as AS400 and fragmented or in-house data environments.
• Strong documentation skills covering data lineage, dictionaries, definitions, governance, and business rules.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technical audiences.

• Profile unfamiliar datasets and assess data quality, feasibility, and readiness for new initiatives.
• Investigate and reconcile data across AS400 environments, user interfaces, BI extracts, Excel files, DataHub environments, and other systems.
• Reuse, adapt, combine, and validate SQL queries and data extracts, explaining discrepancies across sources.
• Own data discovery, lineage, definitions, data dictionaries, documentation, and business rules.
• Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, dependencies, and ambiguities before they impact project delivery.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to understand data sources, calculations, processes, and usage.
• Translate findings into clear, decision-ready insights that help determine which ideas move forward.

Working within a large healthcare and pharmaceutical environment, youll collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand data across legacy platforms, dashboards, extracts, spreadsheets, and back-end systems. Youll be the person who gets into the data early, challenges assumptions with evidence, and helps determine whether an idea has the foundation to succeed.

Your Responsibilities

Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Business Data Analyst, or Data Management Analyst in complex data environments.
• Strong hands-on SQL, data profiling, exploratory analysis, data quality, and validation skills.
• Experience working with legacy platforms such as AS400 and fragmented or in-house data environments.
• Strong documentation skills covering data lineage, dictionaries, definitions, governance, and business rules.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technical audiences.
• Familiarity with Alation or similar data governance tools, Power BI, Tableau, data warehouses, or data lakes is an asset.
• Healthcare, pharmaceutical, distribution, innovation, discovery, or R&D experience is considered an asset.
