Job description

Data Acquisition Engineer (Windsor, Ontario)

Hourly pay range: $34.00 – $36.80. May be asked to travel to the USA for meetings. Ability to qualify for US TN visa. Hybrid.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setting up and conducting data acquisition using various data acquisition systems, coordinating test specimen build, setting up data acquisition systems, data processing, and communicating with stakeholders.
• Detailed understanding of the data acquisition systems and various transducers used and how they interact as well as CAN communication.
• The ability to operate and conduct data acquisition at company grounds.
• Process and detail-oriented with proven ability to lead projects from start to finish with minimal guidance.
• Good communication and leadership skills required to coordinate and instruct bargaining unit mechanics in performing vehicle instrumentation, part strain gauging and part changes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience with data acquisition equipment using various transducers including wheel force transducers, accelerometers, load cells and strain gages.
• Understanding of damage severity analysis and stress‑life/load‑life calculations; NCode, MTS RPC Pro and FlexTest experience preferred.
• Competent with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, VBA.
• Strong time management, leadership, planning and follow‑up skills.
• Excellent written and oral skills.
• Minimum 2–5 years of engineering experience within a testing environment in the automotive industry.
• Will consider new graduates with related co‑op experience.
• Ability to support working days as well as overtime during the week and weekends on occasion.
• Experience working in a unionized environment.
• Required to drive a company car; valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Required to travel domestically and internationally 10–20%.
• Ability to qualify for US TN visa or similar.
