Dortmans Bros Barn Equip Inc in Salford, Ontario is seeking a full-time Dairy Robot Service Technician to install, calibrate, and support robotic milking systems on farms. You will train farm staff on operation and maintenance and help ensure system reliability.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electronics and software, monitor performance, and adjust settings for efficiency. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel are required.

• Must be able to live near or relocate to the Salford area.
• Willingness to learn and work with new dairy technologies.
• Excellent customer relations, verbal and written communication expected.
• Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose complex technical issues.

Responsabilités

• Install, calibrate and integrate dairy robotic milking systems and train farm staff on operation and maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic and software issues; replace defective parts as needed.
• Monitor robotic system performance and adjust settings to improve efficiency; provide clear service logs and reports.
• Provide responsive technical support including emergency calls, while following safety standards.

What You Will Do

• Install, set up, calibrate, and integrate dairy robotic milking systems and related equipment on farms; provide training to farm staff on system operation and maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software issues; repair or replace defective parts and components in a timely manner.
• Monitor and optimize robotic system performance, including milk collection, cow identification, and cow health monitoring; adjust settings and recommend improvements to system efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide responsive technical support to farm owners, operators, and staff, including emergency service calls; maintain clear customer communication, accurate service logs, inspection records, and repair reports while following all applicable safety standards and protocols.

• Must live near or relocate to the Salford area.
• Are self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable learning and working with new dairy technologies.
• Possess excellent customer relations, verbal communication, written communication, and documentation skills.
• Have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Have an understanding of dairy operations, milking processes, and animal care, or the ability to develop this knowledge.
• Possess a valid driver’s licence and clean driving record.
• Have mechanical, electrical, electronics, robotics, or related technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Are willing to travel to dairy farms and production facilities throughout the service area.
• Must be willing to work flexible and on-call hours, including evenings and weekends, for emergency repairs.

Experience{{:}}

• Previous experience with dairy robots, automated milking systems, dairy equipment, or similar machinery is preferred.
• Farming, dairy, or agriculture experience is considered an asset.
• Experience or knowledge in robotics, electronics, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and software troubleshooting is considered an asset.

• Post-secondary technical education or certification in a relevant mechanical, electrical, electronics, agricultural engineering, or related field is preferred.
