The University of British Columbia’s Dairy Education and Research Centre (DERC) seeks a Business Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations, manage the operating budget, supervise farm workers, and coordinate with multiple university units. Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline with 3+ years of related experience.
• Post-graduate degree preferred; 5 years of experience in business/financial management is an asset.
• Strong written and spoken English communication; ability to negotiate and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day operations of the Dairy Centre including budget oversight and supervising farm workers.
• Oversees facilities management, equipment maintenance, agronomy and feeding activities for the dairy herd.
• Negotiates vendor contracts and coordinates with procurement to evaluate proposals and ensure accurate invoicing.
