Job summary

The University of British Columbia’s Dairy Education and Research Centre (DERC) seeks a Business Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of the Dairy Centre, manage the budget, staff and facilities, and ensure compliance with university policies and safety regulations.

You will work closely with the AHWR Manager and leadership team to align operations with academic goals and external stakeholder engagement, while maintaining financial self-sustainability for the centre.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline required.
• Minimum three years of related experience or equivalent.
• Strong leadership, budgeting and contract management skills.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operations of the Dairy Centre, including budgeting and staff supervision.
• Negotiates contracts and coordinates with finance on reporting and cost targets.
• Ensures compliance with university policies and safety regulations across operations.
• Coordinates with AHWR Manager and leadership to support academic and community outreach.
