Job Description
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reports to the Unit Supervisor, Cytogenetics and Molecular Diagnostics or designate. Under the direction of the Unit Supervisor and Cytogeneticist, conducts a variety of diagnostic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of Cytogenetic conditions.
Current Clinical Genetics or Cytogenetics Technologist certification with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS). Bachelor of Science in a related discipline and one (1) year recent related cytogenetic experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
