Job summary

David Aplin Recruiting is seeking a Cybersecurity Compliance Analyst to design and implement a government cybersecurity compliance program. On-site across Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, or Vancouver, you’ll advise stakeholders and build frameworks aligned with ITSP, CMMC and NIST to defend critical national infrastructure.

You'll lead audits, remediate gaps, and drive continuous improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, security-conscious organization.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in cybersecurity compliance and governance.
  • Expertise with ITSP, CMMC, NIST and building from scratch.
  • Experience on government or defence-related compliance initiatives.
  • Strong communication to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to lead compliance programs independently.
  • Desirable: government contracting or defence sector experience.

  • Identify compliance gaps and develop strategic remediation plans.
  • Prepare and support audit and assessment processes, ensuring readiness and compliance evidence management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet requirements and ensure ongoing compliance; hold teams accountable for evidence collection.
  • Drive continuous improvements within the compliance program, supporting the organization’s ability to secure government defence contracts.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity compliance and governance.
  • Proven expertise with ITSP, CMMC, NIST standards, and designing compliance frameworks from scratch.
  • Experience working on government or defence-related compliance initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills capable of influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead compliance programs independently.
  • Preferred: experience with government contracting, the defence sector, or related standards.
