Qualifications

The opportunity

Join EY’s dynamic Cybersecurity practice and play a key role in our Cyber Risk & Resilience team. You will deliver high-impact assessment services across the Industrials and Energy sectors in Canada, overseeing and refining our IT and OT cybersecurity risk management offerings to meet industry needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about delivering high-quality risk management services and shaping innovative cybersecurity solutions.

You will manage client engagements, support business development, and foster strategic partnerships. Additionally, you will explore new areas, including capital projects and M&A, to expand our cybersecurity assessment scope. We seek a leader committed to excellence in assessments, fundamental to effective cyber risk management.

Your key responsibilities
  1. Client Engagement and Risk Assessment Delivery
    • Lead IT and OT cybersecurity risk assessments, ensuring tailored solutions that meet client needs.
    • Manage client relationships, ensuring project expectations and value delivery.
    • Enhance assessment methodologies to reflect industry best practices.
  2. Innovation and Offering Development
    • Contribute to developing new assessment offerings using emerging technologies.
    • Collaborate with strategic partners, including insurance companies, to expand our solutions.
    • Explore non-traditional areas like capital projects and M&A to broaden services.
  3. Business Development and Growth
    • Identify and pursue new opportunities within the sectors.
    • Work with leadership on market strategies and proposals.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support growth.
  4. Leadership and Team Development
    • Lead a team delivering cybersecurity risk assessments, fostering a culture of excellence.
    • Mentor team members for professional growth.
    • Share insights and best practices for practice development.
  5. Strategic Alliances and Thought Leadership
    • Build relationships with partners like insurance providers and tech vendors.
    • Contribute to industry forums, publications, and panels.
    • Bring innovative perspectives to assessment methods.
Skills and attributes for success
  1. Consulting and Leadership Experience
    • Experience leading cybersecurity risk assessments in IT and OT within Industrials and Energy sectors.
    • Strong client management skills and team leadership experience.
  2. Cybersecurity Expertise
    • Knowledge of frameworks like NIST, IEC 62443.
    • Experience developing assessment methodologies.
    • Familiarity with emerging cybersecurity trends.
  3. Industry Expertise
    • Understanding of cybersecurity challenges in Industrials and Energy sectors.
    • Experience delivering sector-specific risk assessments.

    • Track record of identifying and developing new opportunities.
    • Experience with proposals, RFPs, and SOWs.

Minimum qualifications
  • 5+ years in internal audit or cybersecurity risk assessment, with at least 3 years in both.
  • Experience with NIST, NERC CIP, or CSA N290.7 standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, IT, business, or related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of IA processes in IT/OT cybersecurity.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and deliver results.
  • Strategic thinking and a focus on innovation.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in IT/OT environments.
  • Certifications such as CIA, CISA, CRMA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC.

Compensation

The salary range in British Columbia is $93,500 to $165,000, determined by factors like education, experience, skills, and location.
