The Cybersecurity Operations Expert will drive cybersecurity operational activities for the Varian MDO (Multi Disciplinary Oncology) cloud program. This role leads and supports ongoing cybersecurity operations, collaborating with business, product engineering, enterprise cybersecurity, IT, and other cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless security operations (SecOps). You will leverage your security background and cloud knowledge to design and deliver tailored security solutions that address current cloud security challenges and lay a foundation for future success.

You are responsible for:

• Working with business leaders, IT teams, and other cross-functional teams to drive SecOps efforts and deliver advanced cybersecurity solutions. Acting as a lead to peers, subordinates, and senior management regarding cybersecurity operations issues, resolutions, and enhancements.
• Leading and implementing cloud security controls, security assessments, and audit activities for cloud certification efforts like SOC II.
• Reviewing and enhancing security operational processes in areas such as Vulnerability Management, Threat Detection, SIEM, Identity Management, Incident Response, and Disaster Recovery.
• Participating in planning, monitoring execution, and managing risks and issues of cybersecurity operational activities using metrics and KPIs.
• Leading discussions with cloud business units during security incidents, coordinating forensic analysis, identifying gaps, and advocating lessons learned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity or IT infrastructure.
• Strong infrastructure background and experience working with security management teams on threat, vulnerability, and incident management.
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure.
• Familiarity with Security Operations capabilities, including SIEM, endpoint protection, firewalls, IDS/IPS.
• Strong background in industry frameworks and certifications such as NIST CSF, SOC II, ISO 27001, GDPR.
• Ability to understand and articulate the cybersecurity operations roadmap.
