Job summary

lululemon is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer, Data Security, to lead security controls and tooling across our data landscape. You will partner with Engineering, Privacy, Legal and Analytics teams to protect data while enabling secure AI use at scale.

The role focuses on operational DSPM and DLP, platform tuning, remediation, and security testing. A strong blend of secure coding and mentorship will help us scale secure solutions enterprise-wide.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; security certification preferred
  • 4-8 years of experience designing and implementing security solutions and embedding security into systems
  • Experience implementing comprehensive security controls across systems including multi-factor authentication and identity management
  • Hands-on experience with DSPM and DLP tools; ability to validate scans and remediation workflows

Responsibilities

  • Own security engineering for specific systems and platforms; design and implement security controls balancing protection, performance, and usability
  • Build, test, and maintain security solutions including automation, libraries, and tooling; apply secure coding practices
  • Collaborate with engineering to integrate security into system design and delivery; drive improvements in control effectiveness

About This Team

The Data & AI Security team is responsible for protecting lululemon's data and enabling the secure and responsible use of AI across the enterprise. We partner closely with Engineering, Data Governance + Analytics, Privacy, Legal, and business teams to reduce data risk, strengthen security posture, and support innovation at scale. Our focus spans data discovery and classification, data protection, and reviewing emerging AI technologies and necessary protection that help the business move faster with confidence.

The Cybersecurity Engineer, Data Security

focuses on the operational execution of DSPM and DLP capabilities, including platform tuning and validation, completing analysis to generate insights, driving remediation efforts, supporting reporting efforts, and working with the business to understand standard business practice. This role is critical to ensuring data security signals are accurate, actionable, and scalable across the enterprise.

Core Responsibilities

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will own security engineering for specific systems and platforms, designing and implementing security controls that balance protection, performance, and usability. You will build, test, and maintain security solutions including automation, libraries, and tooling, apply secure coding practices, and support security testing and validation. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to integrate security into system design and delivery, drive improvements to security control effectiveness, and mentor junior engineers while contributing to high-quality, scalable security implementations.

Select Responsibilities Include
  • Build comprehensive security systems implementing authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management, secure identity services, and security enforcement
  • Develop security code and tools creating security platforms and libraries, scanners and detectors, security frameworks and policies, and security automation tools
  • Implement security at scale building security controls that work across multiple systems
  • Conduct security code reviews reviewing code for security vulnerabilities and implementation issues
  • Test security thoroughly performing security testing, penetration testing, and code security analysis
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; security certification preferred
  • 4-8 years of experience designing and implementing security solutions, building security platforms and automations, or embedding security into systems, or equivalent
  • Proven experience implementing comprehensive security controls across systems including multi-layered defence mechanisms; demonstrated ability to build advanced authentication systems including multi-factor authentication and identity management solutions
  • Experience writing security-critical code including security libraries and middleware; track record of leading security code reviews, establishing secure coding standards, and identifying architectural security issues
  • Proven ability to conduct comprehensive penetration testing and security code analysis; experience building comprehensive security tools including scanners, testing frameworks, and validation systems
  • Hands-on experience with Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) including identifying sensitive data, validating scan accuracy, tuning detection rules, and supporting remediation workflows; experience with operating DSPM + DLP security tools is strong preferred.
  • Working knowledge of securing data in modern cloud and analytics environments, across unstructured and structured data stores.

Compensation And Benefits Package

lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and teamperformance. Thetypical hiring range for this position is from $1 12,200 - $147,200 annually ; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
