Job summary

ANBL in Fredericton, NB is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst - Operations to monitor, detect, investigate, and respond to security threats across the organization. This hands-on security role reports to the Cybersecurity Manager and focuses on incident response and ongoing control improvements.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in cybersecurity operations, strong experience with Microsoft Sentinel/Defender/Intune, and solid knowledge of NIST CSF; bilingualism is an asset but not required.

  • Experience implementing or assessing controls per NIST CSF or CIS controls.

  • Lead in detecting and analyzing security incidents, including breaches and vulnerabilities.
  • Remediate security gaps per incident response procedures and drive continuous improvement.

About the Cybersecurity Analyst - Operations role

Reporting to the Cybersecurity Manager, the Cybersecurity Analyst - Operations will play a key role in monitoring, detecting, investigating, and responding to security threats across the organization. This position is ideal for a security professional who enjoys hands-on security operation, threat hunting, incident response, and continuous improvement of security controls.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Lead in detecting and analyzing security incidents, including attacks, breaches, and identified vulnerabilities, and remediate any security gaps in line with the security incident management procedure.
  • Identify new external developments and/or emerging issues within an area of technology or business function and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.
  • Ensure that business activities within area of responsibility comply with relevant external regulatory and/or voluntary codes and with internal policies and procedures to minimize business risk and to protect the reputation of the organization.

  • Should have knowledge of NIST CSF & Vulnerability management
What do you need to be successful?
  • 3+ years of experience in Cybersecurity Operations, Security Engineering, SOC, or related security roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel, including KQL development, analytics tuning, incident investigation, and automation.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Defender XDR, including Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Office 365, and Cloud Apps.
  • Practical experience administering Microsoft Intune compliance policies, device configurations, and security baselines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, Identity Protection, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
  • Proven experience managing enterprise vulnerability management and remediation programs.
  • Experience implementing or assessing controls aligned to NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, CIS Controls, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview, DLP, Information Protection, or data governance initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of incident response processes, playbooks, and cyber resilience practices.
  • Experience creating operational and executive dashboards using Power BI.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Would be an asset if you had:
  • Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, SC-200, SC-300, AZ-500, CISSP, GIAC, or equivalent.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, or security automation.
  • Threat hunting and MITRE ATT&CK experience.
  • Experience leading incident response activities or tabletop exercises.
  • Familiarity with Sentinel Workbooks and Power BI data modeling.
  • Manages Complexity: Makes sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.

Work location:
  • The Retail Operations Centre is located in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
  • The successful candidate must be based in New Brunswick; a hybrid work arrangement is possible.
  • Semi-regular travel for meetings and project work may be required.
Compensation information:
  • $ 81,790 – $ 104,825
