Job summary

Rona Embrun in Ontario is seeking a Customer Service Representative for our lumber yard. You will provide expert advice on building materials, assist customers with their purchases, and help keep the yard stocked, organized and safe.

We require 1–2 years of lumber yard or customer service experience, comfort with outdoor work, and availability for day shifts and every-other weekend. You will also assist with loading products, check invoices, and maintain inventory and cleanliness to ensure

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with expert advice for lumber and building materials.
• Assist customers in loading products safely and efficiently.
• Check invoices and verify correct products are provided.
• Assist with daily department upkeep including unloading trucks, culling lumber, organizing stock, labeling prices, and maintaining pallets.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment for employees and customers.
• Perform opening and closing duties as needed in the yard.
• Handle other tasks to ensure smooth store operations.

Job Description

Reporting to the RONA Division Manager, this position is responsible for providing excellent customer service, stocking and merchandising, maintaining inventory levels and ensuring a clean and organized work environment.

The Role

• Provide customers with expert advice and assistance for their lumber and building material needs.
• Assist customers in loading product safely and efficiently.
• Check invoices and verify correct product is provided.
• Assist with the daily upkeep of the department including off loading trucks, culling lumber, organizing stock, cleaning, price labelling, and maintaining pallets/stock.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment for employees and customers.
• Opening and closing duties as needed in the Yard.
• Other related tasks to ensure the store runs smoothly.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has 1 to 2 years of work experience in a lumber yard.
• Have experience in customer service.
• Be available for day and every other weekend work.
• Have excellent problem-solving skills.
• Have the ability to perform work requiring outdoor physical exertion and standing for long periods of time.
