Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. in Owen Sound is hiring a Customer Service Representative to deliver exceptional service over the phone, in person, and in writing. You will greet customers, determine issues, take orders, and support the sales team with product knowledge in drywall materials.

Job description

Position Purpose:

The customer service representative must provide exceptional customer service to all customers and employees. The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Training in product knowledge of building materials for the drywall industry will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure over the phone, face-to-face and or written communications with customers representing the company’s culture, values, and practices.
• Greet customers warmly and determine problems, orders, or other reasons for calling.
• Ability to ascertain when to pass on a customer’s questions to appropriate sales staff for additional products and sales information.
• Take orders at the sales counter and or over the phone.
• Ability to use company computer systems for order entry.
• Complete sales orders and tender cash sales.
• Develop product knowledge to assist customers with purchases.
• Ensure the showroom is clean and properly stocked.

Dispatch Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the delivery team.
• Tracking and communicating delivery information to operations, warehouse, delivery teams and customers.
• Work with other team members to ensure delivery success.
• Inventory management.
• Document and report on required metrics and activities.
• Communicate issues and successes to superiors in a timely manner.
• Communicate all information and instructions respectfully.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks in the warehouse when needed.
• Assist with deliveries at job sites when needed.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to self -manage, show initiative and be comfortable meeting the public.
• Be a team player, demonstrate attention to detail and have good organizational skills.
• Exceptional computer skills.
• Ability to self-manage, show initiative and be proactive.
• Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customers.
• Occasionally, will move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
• Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
• Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Constantly working in office environment.

• Must be able to receive and analyze financial information.
• Must be able to quickly communicate solutions if problems occur.

Compensation:

The (range of) compensation for this position is $43,200.00 to $50,100.00
