Job summary

GMS Canada, the Canadian division of Gypsum Management & Supply (GMS), is seeking a customer service representative in Burlington, ON. You will deliver exceptional service over the phone, in person, and in writing, supporting customers and employees in a fast-paced environment.

Training on building materials will be provided; duties include order entry, product knowledge development, and showroom upkeep. A high school diploma or GED is required to start a rewarding career with a leading

• Maintain phone, face-to-face, and written communications with customers in line with company culture and values.
• Greet customers, identify issues, orders, or reasons for calling.
• Refer questions to sales staff for additional products and information as needed.
• Take orders at the sales counter or over the phone.
• Enter orders using company computer systems and process cash sales.
• Build product knowledge to assist customers with purchases.
• Keep showroom clean and well-stocked.

Job description

Position Purpose

The customer service representative must provide exceptional customer service to all customers and employees. The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Training in product knowledge of building materials for the drywall industry will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure over the phone, face-to-face and or written communications with customers representing the company’s culture, values, and practices.
• Greet customers warmly and determine problems, orders, or other reasons for calling.
• Ability to ascertain when to pass on a customer’s questions to appropriate sales staff for additional products and sales information.
• Take orders at the sales counter and or over the phone.
• Ability to use company computer systems for order entry.
• Complete sales orders and tender cash sales.
• Develop product knowledge to assist customers with purchases.
• Ensure the showroom is clean and properly stocked.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to self -manage, show initiative and be comfortable meeting the public.
• Be a team player, demonstrate attention to detail and have good organizational skills.
• Exceptional computer skills.
• Ability to self-manage, show initiative and be proactive.
• Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customers.
• Occasionally, will move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
• Must be able to operate basic office machinery.

Compensation

The (range of) compensation for this position is $47,500.00 to $55,100.00
