Heritage Co-op in Brandon, MB is hiring a Food Store Cashier to deliver exceptional customer service, handle transactions accurately, and keep checkout areas clean and organized while supporting store operations.

You will greet customers, operate the POS, balance tills, and assist with product locations and promotions, all while following safety policies and contributing to a World Class Customer Experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school preferred.
• Previous retail, cash handling or grocery experience an asset.
• Strong customer service skills with ability to build relationships.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math and attention to detail for accurate transactions.
• POS experience an asset.
• Commitment to learning in retail.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Prolonged standing, walking and repetitive movements.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg).

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and respond to inquiries to promote Co-op products and services.
• Accurately process transactions including cash, debit, credit, gift cards, refunds and exchanges while balancing tills.
• Maintain clean, organized checkout areas and displays near cash registers.
• Assist customers with product locations and carry-outs as needed.
• Follow loss prevention, cash handling, health and safety policies; report concerns.
• Support store operations with light housekeeping and merchandising tasks.
