Our client is a growing food manufacturing organization with an exciting opportunity for a Customer Business Development Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role is responsible for managing a key customer relationship and the day-to-day commercial activities that support sales growth, profitability and long-term business development.
The Customer Business Development Manager will build and maintain strong customer relationships while developing and executing plans to drive volume, market share and profitability. This is a hands‑on commercial role involving pricing, promotions, forecasting, new product development and ongoing collaboration with internal teams.
Manage day-to-day relationships with key customer commercial, innovation and product development teams.
Develop and execute tactical plans to drive sales growth, market share and profitability.
Negotiate pricing, promotional pricing and new product costings with customers and suppliers.
Plan, execute and monitor promotional programs.
Work with New Product Development teams on new and existing product initiatives.
Manage forecasting, cost-price confirmations, new line forms and other account administration.
Analyze product and sales performance and recommend opportunities for improvement.
Monitor market and consumer trends to identify opportunities and risks.
Collaborate with Planning, Procurement, Operations and Supply Chain teams to support customer requirements.
Experience in customer development, account management, national accounts, sales, within the food or CPG industry.
Experience working with a leading Canadian retailers is preferred.
Proven negotiation and customer relationship management skills.
Strong understanding of forecasting, business performance and profitability.
Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong commercial acumen with a results-oriented approach.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions in a fast-paced environment.
Experience leading or developing a team.
Beef or pork industry experience is an asset, but not required.
Lead and develop a small team of 1-2 direct reports.
Salary: $87,761 – $109,701 per year
Up to 20% annual bonus
