Job summary

Red Shores Racetrack & Casino in Summerside, Canada is seeking a dedicated janitorial professional to keep our facilities clean, safe, and welcoming, while contributing to excellent customer service in a team environment. You will perform daily cleaning tasks, water plants, monitor lighting, and help prepare the venue for events.

A high school diploma and janitorial experience are preferred; WHMIS training and bilingualism are assets.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• General cleaning including sweeping, mopping, garbage removal and vacuuming.
• Water plants throughout the building.
• Monitor and maintain exterior lighting.
• Prepare facility for events and holidays; ensure equipment on site.
• Conduct weekly deficiency inspections and report to Manager.
• Identify hazards to ensure patron safety per H&S legislation.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards across all areas.
• Operate motorized equipment safely; handle chemicals properly.
• Perform related duties as required.

The Opportunity:

The successful candidate will be responsible to perform all duties related to the cleaning and maintenance of the site/property including outdoor areas. Assist in providing excellent customer service standards and working in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• General clean-up including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, and vacuuming, and more.
• Water Plants throughout the building.
• Monitor and maintain building and exterior grounds lighting systems.
• Prepare Facility for special events, holidays, and more by ensuring that all required equipment and material are on site and in working order.
• Conduct weekly deficiency inspections of Facility and submit weekly task list to the Manager.
• Identify hazards and ensure patron safety in accordance H &S Legislation within all
• Maintain all areas to the highest standards.
• Assist in creating an environment that is customer focused and performance driven so that customer expectations are met and/or exceeded.
• Use and safe handling of motorized mechanical equipment in day-to-day duties.
• Knowledge and safe handling of chemicals used throughout facility.
• Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
