Job summary

Red Shores Racetrack & Casino is seeking a diligent cleaner/maintenance helper to perform site and outdoor area maintenance while providing excellent customer service in a team setting.

The role requires general cleaning, plant care, lighting checks, and event preparation. You will conduct weekly inspections, identify hazards, and help maintain high cleanliness standards daily.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Janitorial experience.
• WHMIS Training preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding area.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Bilingualism is an asset.

Responsibilities

• General clean-up including sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, and vacuuming.
• Water plants throughout the building.
• Monitor and maintain building and exterior grounds lighting systems.
• Prepare Facility for special events, holidays, and ensure equipment/materials are on site.
• Conduct weekly deficiency inspections of Facility and submit weekly task list to Manager.
• Identify hazards and ensure patron safety in line with H&S Legislation.
• Maintain all areas to the highest standards.
• Support a customer-focused and performance-driven environment.

The Opportunity:

The successful candidate will be responsible to perform all duties related to the cleaning and maintenance of the site/property including outdoor areas. Assist in providing excellent customer service standards and working in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• General clean-up including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, and vacuuming, and more.
• Water Plants throughout the building.

• Use and safe handling of motorized mechanical equipment in day-to-day duties.

• Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
