The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time custodian in Brockville, Ontario to perform routine cleaning and custodial duties across the ministry facilities. You will handle waste, cleaning of washrooms, kitchens and common areas, and ensure safe operations in line with WHMIS and safety policies.
Responsibilities include inventory control, reporting maintenance concerns, and supporting a clean, welcoming environment for staff and visitors while adhering to scheduling and safety requirements.

This is a regular part-time position based on 12 hours per week The performance of the job requires the ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs. with no assistance from others, reach, bend, twist, and stoop frequently, work in a standing or sitting position for long periods; operating industrial cleaning equipment and tools, mopping/sweeping, reaching, occasional ladder work, requires fine motor skills. The performance of the job requires moderate to high attention when handling hazardous chemicals and using non-motorized/general cleaning equipment. Normal Hours of Work: Schedule may vary according to operational requirements; flexibility is required; may include afternoon and evening shifts, Monday through Friday and the supervisor will set the work schedule in consultation with the incumbent and may include shifts between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Completion of Secondary School. Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements Up to 1 year of prior related experience including custodial and life skills and general familiarity with cleaning and maintenance: procedures and equipment. Knowledge of Health & Safety Standards. Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
The target hiring range for this position is $17.60 to $19.85 with a maximum of $23.82. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
