(Job Number:42-25)Department: Academic Quality Campus: Barrie Classification: Support Staff Posting Date: May 2, 2025 Hourly Pay Range: $42.56 (start rate) - $49.34 (4-year rate) Hours Per Week: 35 hours per week Status: Contract (Appendix D) Effective dates: August 1, 2025 - October 2, 2026
This is a temporary replacement for a bargaining unit employee. Terms and conditions of employment are as outlined in the Support Staff Collective Agreement.
Reporting to the Director, Academic Quality the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the progression of college wide quality assurance curriculum processes through their developmental cycles, and ensuring document submissions and approvals are completed through Georgian College's Curriculum Information Management (CIM) system and through external government bodies as required. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Guiding and ensuring the progression of college wide quality assurance curriculum processes through cycles from start to completion, including but not limited to new program development, program renewal, program standards implementation, and annual program quality review
- Ensuring the progression and approvals of quality assurance curriculum processes through the college's CIM system
- Coordinating, scheduling, and tracking of the annual program renewal cycle
- Coordinating support for academic teams undergoing program renewal, new program development, and Program Standard reviews
- Collaborating with Institutional Research and Strategic Insights to provide teams with the necessary data for program development, program renewal, program modifications, and annual program quality review.
- Submitting new program funding requests and other documentation, as required, to the Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security (the Ministry) and other provincial government bodies
- Organizing Program Innovation Review Committee and Academic Council meetings and taking minutes, ensuring terms of reference are followed, items come to the meeting agendas in a timely manner, follow up actions occur as needed, and documentation and reports are provided to Capacity Assessment Committee, College Council and the Board of Governors as required
- Advising Deans, Associate Deans and program teams about Georgian College, Ministry, and other provincial bodies' regulations and processes for quality assurance curriculum processes
- Liaising between the Ministry and program teams when there are questions about the curriculum processes being undertaken such as new program development or program modifications
- Liaising with the Dean, Liberal Arts and Academic Quality; the Associate Vice President, Academic; and the Vice President, Academic as necessary to support curricular processes and approvals
- Collaborating with college staff to ensure progression of curriculum processes through to the approval stage by bodies such as President's Leadership Team, the Board of Governors, Program Innovation Review Committee and Capacity Assessment Committee
- Ensuring currency of the content and resources on the Office of Academic Quality (OAQ) website and collaborating with other OAQ team members to provide training and resources for faculty, staff, and academic managers
- Supporting academic program teams and the OAQ Program Development and Review Consultants to ensure policies and processes are being followed, and answering questions/troubleshooting
Qualifications:
- A three-year postsecondary diploma in a relevant field of study that may include, but is not limited to business, education, or project management
- A minimum of five years' experience working in a similar position in a postsecondary institution where duties include project management, overseeing business processes, updating websites and developing web resources, developing or assisting with developing curriculum and supporting curriculum development processes
- Experience working with teams to manage projects to meet deadlines and ensure quality results
- Knowledge of curriculum development processes
- Knowledge of Ministry rules and regulations, Georgian College's academic policies, processes and practices, Postsecondary Education Quality Assessment Board (PEQAB) requirements, Credential Validation Service (CVS) guidelines and Ontario College Quality Assurance Service (OCQAS) requirements and practices
- Experience with Georgian's CIM and Banner systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to enable successful interactions with government staff, college administration, faculty and staff
- Experience maintaining websites, creating web resources, and providing training
- Experience and proficiency using various computer software within the Microsoft Office suite
