Job summary

The University of Ottawa's Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences is seeking ten student Correctors to proctor midterms, mark exams, and review results with students. Work is on site at Main Campus during the 2027 winter term, January 1 to April 30, with hourly rates depending on student status.

Eligibility includes completion of BCH3120 or an equivalent course, WHMIS and OH&S trainings, and reading French is an asset. All staff must complete mandatory training under CUPE 2626 terms.

Qualifications

• Successful BCH3120 completion or equivalent, or must pass a qualifying test.
• WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety trainings completed.
• Reading French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Proctor midterms and final exams issued by the faculty.
• Review exams with students and assign/record marks.
• Assist with grading and related administrative tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

Successful completion of a course in Intermediary Metabolism (BCH3120) or the equivalent; All those who are not graduate students in Chemistry or Biochemistry will be required to write a test to qualify (unless already done); Successful completion of WHIMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops;

Reading French is an asset.
