Job summary

University of Ottawa seeks part-time proctors to supervise and support exam sessions at the Main Campus for the Fall 2026 term. You will supervise final and mid-term exams, ensuring policies are followed and the assessment environment remains orderly and secure.

The role is hourly with two rate bands depending on student status and experience. Work starts September 1, 2026 and ends December 31, 2026, with a total of 4 hours per assignment as described.

Work Hours & Compensation

Number of positions: 20 Expected Enrolment: 200 Work Start Date: September 01, 2026 Work End Date: December 31, 2026 Total Work Hours: 4 Hourly Rate: Surveillant / Proctor : $31.44 ou/or $37.73 (Sept. 2026 - Aug. 2027)

The academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31. Undergraduate students will be paid at the lower rate; while graduate students will be paid at the higher rate. These rates do not included vacation pay nor statutory pay. These rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Retro will be paid after the ratification.
