Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook food, manage mise en place, and maintain high standards of safety and quality in a fast-paced environment. The role requires proven cooking experience including restaurant or prep cook work, and a valid Food Safety Certification.

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a restaurant cook or prep cook.
• Food Safety Certification required.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food as directed.
• Set up mise en place and high volume production prep.
• Clean kitchen equipment according to health and safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverages properly.
• Communicate with operations teams.
• Report maintenance or safety issues to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
