Job summary

IBM Consulting in Vancouver seeks a Chief Technology Officer to drive new business opportunities and lead strategic technology transformations for clients. You will shape advisory on complex delivery, mentor teams, and build trusted client relationships across IBM's delivery ecosystem.

You will work across industries to articulate solutions, draft responses to information requests, RFPs, and ensure bids align with client needs and IBM capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in complex services engagements and leading to client acceptance of IBM terms and conditions.
  • Ability to draft and review responses to RFIs/RFPs, IBM contracts, and statements of work.
  • Track record in identifying new business opportunities and contributing to solution development.
  • Deep understanding of clients' industries and how IBM components deliver complex services.

  • Develop New Business Opportunities for complex technology transformation: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, creatively participating in the development of solutions that meet client needs and support business objectives within your area of practice.
  • Establish Trusted Client Relationships: Build and maintain trusted long-term relationships with clients through your ability to articulate solutions and establish strong relationships with other areas of IBM used in the delivery of complex services.
  • Contribute to Intellectual Capital: Contribute to the growth of intellectual capital within your practice area and support the development of other consultants through participation in mentoring or coaching activities.
  • Advise on Complex Delivery and Solutioning with the team: Provide strong assistance to IBM in winning new business, leveraging your expertise to win client trust and confidence.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Chief Technology Officer, you will leverage your expertise to develop new business opportunities, support the technical solutioning, lead as strategic architect across the business and lead client advisory on technology transformation.

You will utilize your deep knowledge of complex services engagements to solve business problems in the client's industry.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Develop New Business Opportunities for complex technology transformation: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, creatively participating in the development of solutions that meet client needs and support business objectives within your area of practice.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Proven Experience in Complex Services Engagements: Deep expertise in developing new business opportunities, leading to client acceptance of IBM terms and conditions for services delivery, with a demonstrated expert knowledge of the appropriate methods and skills needed to solve business problems in the client's industry.
  • Expert Knowledge of Contractual Requirements: Familiarity with the contractual requirements for their area of practice, with the ability to draft and review responses to Requests for Information (RFI), responses to Requests for Proposal (RFP), IBM contracts, and IBM statements of work.
  • Established Track Record in Business Development: Experience in identifying new business opportunities, creatively participating in the development of solutions, and providing strong assistance to IBM in the winning of that business.
  • Industry-Specific Expertise: Deep understanding of the client's industry, with the ability to articulate solutions and establish strong relationships with other areas of IBM used in the delivery of complex services.
  • Leadership in Intellectual Capital Growth: Experience in contributing to the growth of intellectual capital within their practice area and supporting the development of other consultants through participation in mentoring or coaching activities.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Deep Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of multiple industries, with the ability to articulate solutions and establish strong relationships with other areas of IBM used in the delivery of complex services.
  • Advanced Contract Negotiation: Expertise in drafting and reviewing complex solutions, architecture and complex technology delivery.
  • Business Development Expertise: Experience in creatively participating in the development of solutions, and providing strong assistance to IBM in the winning of new business.
