Job description

In this role, you will ensure the safety of children at designated school intersections. Your duties will include monitoring traffic flow, granting pedestrians the right of way, and adhering to the regulations set by the Highway Traffic Act. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the daily safety and well-being of the children in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor traffic flow at designated school intersections.
• Grant pedestrians the right of way.
• Adhere to the regulations set by the Highway Traffic Act.

Pre-employment Checks:

• Successful candidates will undergo a Police Vulnerable Sector Check and a Medical Evaluation, with all associated costs covered by the City of St. Catharines.

Compensation:

• Hourly Rate: $21.80 (Increasing to $23.76 on January 1, 2025).

Available Positions:

• Regular part-time positions (September to June) and on-call positions.

Hours of Work:

• Two 60-minute shifts per school day (morning and afternoon), excluding PD days, school holidays, and closures.
