Job summary

Winnipeg Regional Health Authority in Russell Diagnostics is seeking a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist for in-person duties across day and evening shifts. The role requires strong leadership, bench management, and the ability to interpret complex results.

Eligible candidates must have CSMLS certification, CMLTM licensing, and at least three years of related experience; supervisory experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology program with CSMLS certification.
• Current licensing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba (CMLTM)
• Current CSMLS registration preferred or CAMRT eligibility within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interpret results, troubleshoot methods, and assess techniques.
• Organize and prioritize bench duties for the Senior Technologist role.
• Demonstrate leadership and supervise staff as applicable.

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Experience

• Minimum three years recent related work experience required.
• Supervisory experience an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology program with attained certification by CSMLS.
• Advanced academic achievement (e.g., A.R.T. or B.Sc.) preferred – or;
• Graduate of an approved Medical Radiography program with attained certification by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
• Graduate of an approved Laboratory or Radiology Assistant Program.
• Relevant courses or seminars preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

• Current licensing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba (CMLTM) required.
• Current registration with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) preferred – or;
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Imaging Technology Program, eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) and registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) within three months of hire.

• Apply technical knowledge to interpretation of results, troubleshooting, and assessing of methods.
