Vantage Commodities is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team and own core accounting processes across Canada and the US. You will work closely with the Controller, manage AP/AR, month-end close, and cross-border tax considerations while leveraging our ERP platform.

This high-potential role offers exposure to process improvement, automation, and a clear path toward a Junior Controller as you grow your knowledge of the business and finance operations.

Qualifications

• Degree, diploma or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or a related field
• 1–3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience, including meaningful co-op or internship experience
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups and pivot tables
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to independently own recurring processes and deadlines
• Comfortable learning new systems and working with financial data

Responsabilités

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable across both entities
• Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping in Xero
• Support month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare US state sales tax filings following training and under the Controller’s oversight
• Support customer credit applications and maintain vendor/customer tax documentation
• Investigate and resolve accounting and transaction discrepancies
• Respond to ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests
• Help improve and automate recurring finance processes
