Job description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant – Cross-Border with approximately 2 years in cross-border tax compliance (Canada–U.S.). This role is designed for professionals looking to expand their technical expertise, take on greater responsibility, and grow their career in a collaborative, supportive environment.

About the Role

You will assist with personal and corporate tax filings for clients with cross-border operations, contribute to advisory projects, and receive mentorship from senior team members.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare cross-border personal tax filings, including U.S. (Forms 1040, 1041) and Canadian (T1) returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance under supervision.
  • Assist in preparing corporate tax returns, including U.S. Forms 1120 and 1065 and Canadian T2 returns.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze client financial information to support accurate filings and advisory work.
  • Liaise directly with clients to obtain documentation, clarify routine tax positions, and provide high-quality client service.
  • Track deliverables, maintain organized engagement files, and ensure filings meet internal and statutory deadlines.
  • Conduct technical research on cross-border tax issues and elevate complex matters to senior staff or managers.
  • Contribute to process improvements, knowledge-sharing, and team development initiatives.
