Job summary

CITY-LINK CARRIERS LTD in Surrey, BC is seeking a driver to operate and move goods with a two-person team. This on-site role requires loading/unloading, performing vehicle inspections, and maintaining safety and cargo security on all trips.

Responsibilities include navigating with GPS, communicating with dispatch, and recording hours, distance, and fuel usage for various regional and cross-border routes. Training is provided with no prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Secondary education required; willingness to train where needed.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record preferred.
• Ability to operate GPS/navigation equipment and follow routes.

Responsibilities

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
• Transport and handle dangerous goods.
