Overview

As a Crop Specialist (Tomatoes) based in or near Leamington, Ontario, you service existing and new tomato-focused greenhouse customers in North America. You provide customer service, technical support, and coordinate greenhouse tomato activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide feedback on Tomato Strategy to Breeders, Crop Coordinators, and Crop Teams.
• Develop and sustain strong, ethical, and personable relationships with key customers, addressing their needs and establishing effective and innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with Crop Specialists and Crop Teams on follow-up and account management activities.
• Provide technical support to growers by clearly understanding their needs.
• Identify and develop new opportunities by leading local planning, assessing trials, and collaborating on decisions for greenhouse tomatoes.

Qualifications

• Completed Ag‑business degree (AgriBusiness or AgriScience).
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience; experience within the vegetable seed business highly preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of proactively assessing, clarifying, and validating crop & customer needs on an ongoing basis.
• Collaborative nature with internal and external stakeholders, communicating across diverse cultures and inspiring trust at all levels.
• Strong analytical skills, persuasive communication skills, independent self‑starter, and ability to set goals and manage progress.
• Enthusiastic about horticulture and knowledgeable of latest developments in the industry.

Location & Travel

Rijk Zwaan Canada is located in Leamington, Ontario. Travel to other Canadian provinces, the United States, and occasional travel to Europe required.
