Job summary

Central Ontario FS, a division of GROWMARK, Inc., is offering a summer internship in agronomy. You will gain first-hand, boots-on-the-ground experience while scouting fields and documenting weeds, insects, diseases, and other yield threats using IPM, satellite imagery, and GPS tools.

We value independence, outdoor work, and curiosity. You will be part of Central Ontario FS’s agronomy team, with training opportunities and a chance to build a career in agriculture.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an agriculture-related college or university program.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrates abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel independently.

REQUIREMENTS

• - Normally requires an individual currently enrolled in an agriculture-related college or university program, who possesses a basic understanding of production agriculture.
• - Must be at least 18 years of age.
• - Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
• - Must have and maintain a valid driver's license (Full G), a satisfactory driving record, and the ability to travel independently as needed.
• - Occasionally exposed or required to work in extreme conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
• - Must be able to walk crop fields and conduct visual inspections of crops.
• - Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
• - May be required to work extended hours, particularly during peak seasons.
