Job summary

Lakeridge Health Oshawa is seeking a Registered Nurse for a temporary part-time role in the Crisis Intervention Team within Mental Health & Addictions. The nurse will perform crisis assessments, maintain records, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• RN with current Certificate of Registration by the College of Nurses.
• BSN degree preferred.
• Current BCLS/CPR certification.
• Certification in Mental Health with the CNA.
• Non-violent Crisis Intervention Program completed.
• Current advanced psychiatric nursing experience in crisis intervention.
• Five years of current acute psychiatric experience.
• Knowledge of personality theories and treatment models.
• Knowledge of psychiatric medication options.
• Excellent interviewing, assessment and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Community Mental Health Resources.
• Commitment to patient-focused care in a non-judgemental manner.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Satisfactory performance record.
• Commitment to Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy.
• Understanding of safety programs and participation in in-services.

Responsibilities

• Participating as a member of the Crisis Intervention Team, the Registered Nurse provides crisis intervention and psychiatric assessment.
