Job summary

The South Slave Divisional Education Council is seeking a positive and committed Cree Language Instructor for Joseph Burr Tyrell Elementary School. The role emphasizes collaborative planning and reporting on Cree language acquisition in line with GNWT guidelines.

Start as soon as possible; term is 1.0 FTE for the 2026-2027 school year. Salary ranges from $82,185 to $132,684 CAD annually and includes a Northern Allowance and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for NWT teacher certification is required.
• A language proficiency assessment may be required.
• Documents required: Resume, Cover letter, Philosophy of education (1 page) and names of at least 3 references.
