Job summary

Sonepar Canada, Inc. in Surrey (Gescan) is seeking a Credit Supervisor to manage the Accounts Receivable portfolio, evaluate credit risk, and oversee collections.

You will work closely with customers, sales teams, and credit colleagues from our Surrey head office to uphold credit policy and optimize cash flow. The role requires strong decision-making, relationship-building, and experience in credit functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or accounting is an asset.
• Construction credit experience is an asset.
• CCP designation or working towards it.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Power BI.
• Good time management skills.
• Excellent customer service and multi-channel communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform credit reviews and risk evaluations for potential new and existing accounts while following the Credit Policy.
• Review construction lien and bond rights expiration dates and advise on filings.
• Contact customers about past-due invoices with sales support as needed.
• Manage collection portfolios in Bectran and SX; dispute management.
• Reconcile payments and assist cash applications; identify unapplied payments.
• Escalate when internal collections efforts are no longer effective.
• Prepare reports on A/R status for the Regional Credit Manager.
• Reconcile accounts for unapplied payments; resolve short/over payments and deductions.
• Respond to inquiries from customers, sales, and branches with quick resolutions.
• Mentor credit analysts monthly and assist in target setting.
• Prepare documentation for bad debt write-offs for approval.
• Be the credit liaison for company-wide projects.
• Assist in annual team reviews.
• Other duties as assigned.
